Carol A. Beatty, Executive Director of The Arc of Howard County, was inducted in the Howard County Women’s Hall of Fame in a ceremony hosted by the Howard County Commission for Women, which promotes the economic, social and political equality of women.
For the past 19 years, Beatty has overseen a nonprofit organization that provides advocacy, housing, recreational services, and employment training, placement and on-the-job support for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as respite care for their families. Over 1,000 individuals and families are served by The Arc of Howard County.
Established in 1996, the Women’s Hall of Fame celebrates the “accomplishments of extraordinary women who have made substantial and tangible differences in our county, state, and nation. “
